Vascular Lab

Vascular Diagnostics Laboratories

Vascular Surgical Associates, PC maintains two Vascular Diagnostics Laboratories, Marietta Diagnostics and Austell Diagnostics. Each lab is a fully accredited ICAVL vascular lab that provides many non invasive studies to evaluate arteries and veins.  These labs can assist your referring physician about blood clots, artery blockages, aneurysms, and other information that may help with diagnosis and treatment of your case.

Cerebrovascular (Carotid Artery) Duplex Examination utilizes duplex ultrasonography to evaluate the cervical, carotid, and vertebral arteries to determine the location and severity of occlusive disease which may lead to stroke or blindness.

Arterial Doppler determines segmental arterial pressures at multiple sites of the extremity and provides accurate, reproducible, and objective information regarding the degree of arterial occlusive disease.

Arterial Duplex utilizes duplex ultrasonography to detect and/or monitor disease of the lower extremity in native arteries and arterial bypass grafts. Duplex evaluation of a groin mass following cardiac catheterization or angioplasty is helpful in diagnosis and management of pseudo-aneurysmal dilatation of the vessel.

Venous Duplex utilizes duplex ultrasonography to evaluate the upper and/or lower extremity, venous system for the presence of deep and superficial venous thrombosis, either chronic or acute. Venous vascular insufficiency is also detected.

Abdominal Aortic Imaging utilizes duplex ultrasonography to evaluate the abdominal aorta and iliac arteries to determine the presence of occlusive disease and/or aneurysmal dilatation. If an aneurysm is suspected or known, ultrasound will help confirm the presence and follow the size for enlargement.

Abdominal Aortic Imaging Marietta Vascular Surgical Associates offer the VNUS Closure procedure which is a minimally invasive treatment alternative for patients with a condition known as superficial venous reflux, which often results in varicose veins and other painful symptoms.  Approximately 25 million people suffer from venous reflux.
